It will showcase and highlight the role of innovative solutions in both adaptation and mitigation, aligning with global climate goals like resilience enhancement, emission reductions, and sustainable financial flows. The session aims to bridge the gap between technological advancements and policy implementation while addressing the critical food and water security challenges.

Unleashing the Caribbean's Abundant Renewable Energy Potential

The Caribbean holds abundant renewable energy resources across solar, wind, geothermal, and even ocean technologies. Innovation is key for expanding these resources to achieve climate ambitions in the region. Advancements like battery storage, offshore energy solutions, and energy auctions are creating new opportunities. When combined with climate finance, smart policies, and public-private partnerships, these innovations have the potential to expand energy access, strengthen climate resilience, and reduce emissions. Advancing Soil Health and Green Fertilizers for Climate, Economic, and Food and Nutrition Resilience

The climate crisis is intensifying global food and nutrition insecurity and environmental challenges, degrading ecosystems, and highlighting the urgent need for action. Recent disruptions in food, fuel, and fertilizer markets have exposed the vulnerabilities and import dependencies of food systems worldwide, particularly in low-income nations. Investing in soil health and green fertilizer solutions can strengthen food security and nutrition, restore ecosystems, drive sustainable inclusive economic growth, and mitigate climate change while adapting to its impacts. 

This event brings together perspectives from research, development, government and the finance community to discuss 1) multi-stakeholder action for addressing financing, implementation and knowledge barriers, and 2) green fertilizer domestic production in Africa, including modeled costs, cost drivers, and developmental impacts.

Envisioning Super Grids for Large Scale Clean Energy Transition

This event focuses on establishing trans-regional green energy corridors that integrate the regional electricity grids of South Asia, ASEAN, the Gulf Cooperation Council, and Africa. This aligns with the vision of enabling a large-scale transition to renewable energy sources, particularly solar energy, by connecting regional power grids through a super grid. The event will explore opportunities and challenges in creating such super grids.
