RTI's Corporate Citizenship Commitment
Our Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability program focuses on these foundational areas: environment; employees; equity, diversity, inclusion and belonging; clients; community; and governance. A team composed of different areas of expertise provides oversight, coordination and recommendations to continuously improve RTI’s approach to corporate citizenship.

Empowering our people to improve the human condition requires that we provide the tools and resources they need to enhance or maintain their own health and well-being. In our effort to deliver on the promise of science for global good, we succeed when we listen to and act on the needs of our employees.
In a culture of belonging, every member of a diverse team feels valued, accepted, needed and safe to share their unique ideas and insights. At RTI, belonging is fundamental to our mission to improve the human condition and to our commitment to innovative solutions.
We work with both public- and private-sector clients seeking science-based solutions to some of the world’s most complex issues. Though our structure is nimble and our approach flexible, our commitment to scientific rigor, project management excellence, quality assurance and integrity is unwavering. Together, RTI and our clients develop sustainable programs that positively impact lives and livelihoods and improve the human condition.
Our commitment to business ethics and compliance, data security, and strong corporate governance begins with our Board of Governors and Corporate Officers and informs our everyday actions at every level of our organization. Whether we’re collaborating with our clients, interacting with our colleagues or engaging in our communities, our ethical behavior and integrity enable RTI to conduct rigorous, objective research to address the world’s most critical problems.
We have several regularly renewed certifications that signify the quality of our data security standards and processes. Our Global Technology Solutions group is ISO/IEC 27001:2013 certified; our Information Security Management System has received third-party accreditation from the International Standards Organization. RTI has processes in place to ensure that our vendors and third-party partners meet our high standards of data security. After the initial screening process, vendors and partners are routinely assessed to confirm they minimize introducing risk.
As an international research institute, RTI procures many different goods and services to support our business. We expect our suppliers to comply with our Code of Conduct and to deliver high-quality service. Supplier screening for labor practice and human rights performance is a key component of our risk management strategy, and we monitor suppliers for any adverse changes in their financial, operational and regulatory status.
