Veterans Are Welcome Here
Veterans make up a significant percentage of our population both nationally and in North Carolina. Our military veterans enhance our organization and bring valuable leadership and technical skills to the workforce.
RTI has a longstanding commitment to create opportunity for and improve the lives of those who have served in the military and their families, through volunteerism, veteran-focused employee programs, and research on topics that impact active-duty service members and veterans.

Mariel Christian
Senior Director of Library and Information ServicesWe have a growing and vibrant culture of veterans at RTI. Our Veterans and Allies Employee Resource Group, VALoR, regularly solicits ideas about how we can be more inclusive of the military, and we see nothing but support of military friendly activities from our leadership. RTI has done a tremendous job in welcoming people with military experience and in helping them translate their skills to the RTI culture.

Education AnalystI've found RTI to be a great place for veterans.

Education AnalystRTI reminds me in many ways of the military. You have individuals here from many different backgrounds coming together for one purpose, and the work ethic and attention to detail that you develop in the military are valued here. I’ve been able to flourish because RTI appreciates self-motivation and a willingness to get out of your comfort zone. I’ve found RTI to be a great place for veterans.

Strategic Account ExecutiveI came to RTI because the mission of improving the human condition by turning knowledge into practice aligned very well with my values and what I did during my time in Service.

Strategic Account ExecutiveI came to RTI because the mission of improving the human condition by turning knowledge into practice aligned very well with my values and what I did during my time in Service. In addition, RTI has very capable staff along with strong, local academic/industry partners and is close to key military locations such as Fort Liberty and Camp Lejeune. It’s a great place to work if you want to help change the world.
RTI’s ERG for Veterans
Our commitment to veterans is organization-wide. Veterans who work at RTI are encouraged to participate in our VALoR, an Employee Resource Group for veterans and allies. VALoR provides a professional network, active community, and development opportunities for its members, while helping to position RTI as an employer of choice.
Affirmation Statement by CEO Tim Gabel
We create meaningful employment, growth, and development opportunities for our military community. Military veterans bring valuable leadership, teamwork, professional skills, work ethic and a service mindset to RTI. They enrich the RTI culture, strengthen our organization, and help us embrace equity, diversity, inclusion, and belonging across experiences in the workplace.
