The past 50 years have brought remarkable advancements in cancer research and treatment, yet disparities in cancer outcomes persist. In this lecture, Dr. Otis W. Brawley, a leading authority on oncology and epidemiology, will discuss the profound impact of the National Cancer Act in reducing cancer mortality, the barriers that still impede equitable care, and the critical importance of accessible, high-quality prevention, screening, and treatment. He will explore the limitations of current approaches to addressing disparities and make a compelling case for improving healthcare access as a vital strategy for closing the gap in cancer outcomes.
The presentation will be from 3-4pm, with a reception afterwards from 4-5pm.
