The National Conference of State Legislatures (NCSL) Maternal Child and Health (MCH) Fellows program held their second meeting of 2022 from June 4-5 in Denver, CO. The MCH Fellows program is designed to support legislators and emerging leaders on MCH-related issues, and the goals for the Fellows meeting include:
- Build knowledge about new research and policy.
- Exchange ideas and solutions related to maternal and child health.
- Meet and learn from other legislative leaders.
- Connect with leading researchers and policy experts.
- Identify practical information to use in your state and develop action steps.

Supporting Children with Special Health Care Needs

This session will highlight trends in newborn screening programs and services for children and youth with special health care needs. Experts and Fellows will discuss options for state leaders to consider as it relates to screening, treatment and support for children and families.
