RTI International recognized as a Gold Level Military Friendly® Employer for 2025

The institute also ranked no. 6 as a Military Friendly® Spouse Employer

RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C. – RTI International, a nonprofit research institute, has been recognized as a gold level Military Friendly® Employer for 2025. Military Friendly® Employers evaluate companies based on their recruitment, hiring and training of veterans.

“We are truly honored to be recognized again as a Gold Level Military Friendly® Employer. This achievement reflects our unwavering commitment to supporting veterans and military spouses in North Carolina and beyond,” said Bucky Fairfax, D.B.A., executive vice president, chief human resources officer. “We believe the skills and experiences of our military community members are invaluable and a differentiator to RTI.”

The institute also earned a designation for being a Military Friendly® Spouse Employer. The list identifies companies that demonstrate their commitment to the recruitment, hiring and training of military spouses. RTI ranked sixth in the government and nonprofit category.

In 2023, RTI became a one-star sponsor of the Honor Foundation (THF), a career transition program for U.S. Special Operations Forces that translates their elite military service to the private sector. Other RTI military-focused efforts include partnership with the Travis Manion Foundation (TMF). In 2017, RTI joined forces with TMF to bring TMF’s Character Does Matter program to North Carolina. TMF empowers veterans and the families of fallen heroes to develop character in future generations.

RTI’s Employee Resource Group for veterans and allies (RTI VALoR) also works with the North Carolina Military Foundation and North Carolina for Military Employment to advance veteran issues within RTI, while spending volunteer time supporting community outreach projects in the Triangle area of North Carolina.

Fairfax added, “This recognition not only validates our efforts but also motivates us to continue creating meaningful career opportunities and a supportive environment for those who have served our country. We are proud to lead by example in fostering a workplace culture that values, recognizes and uplifts our military personnel and their families.”

The 22nd annual list of Military Friendly® Employers has been released on www.militaryfriendly.com and will be published in the December 2024 issue of G.I. Jobs® magazine recognizing 338 Employers.
