Meagan Pilar, PhD, MPH, is an implementation scientist with nearly 10 years of experience using qualitative and mixed methods approaches to evaluate the implementation of health interventions, programs, and policies. Her work integrates applied public health research, implementation science methods, and the social determinants of health to promote equitable, person-centered care. She also has extensive experience conducting systematic reviews to synthesize the existing implementation science literature.  

Dr. Pilar currently serves as the implementation expert for several mixed-methods projects funded by the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ), the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA), and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).  

In addition to her work at RTI, Dr. Pilar is an implementation research consultant through the Yale University School of Medicine. Her projects focus on the development and testing of strategies to support the successful transition from youth to adult care for individuals with sickle cell disease. Before joining RTI in 2022, Dr. Pilar completed an Implementation Science Postdoctoral Research Fellowship at Washington University in St. Louis.
