Clinical Trial Innovation Summit

RTI International will be officially launching its new Consenter technology and patient engagement services at the 7th Annual Clinical Trial Innovation Summit taking place May 7–9 in Boston.

Consenter, a fully interactive e-consent application, improves clinical trial patient engagement and enrollment using technology and communication expertise. Instead of reading long forms, participants engage with Caroline, an on-screen representative who explains the trial process and asks questions using language that participants understand. The results are better informed trial patients and improved participation.

Consenter is built upon research-backed strategies to engage and educate participants. It offers

• Communication methods supported by evidence
• Vignettes that are easy to understand
• Assessments to show patients’ understanding
• Information delivered in a standardized format
• Elements required by institutional review boards (IRBs)

With Consenter, individuals better understand the benefits, risks, and requirements of participation before they sign up. The process is IRB-compliant and creative, and focuses on getting the right participants enrolled in and engaged with clinical trials.
