RTI International hosted its annual Symposium on Community Safety and Policing Research in-person and virtually on March 15-16, 2023. Law enforcement officers, first responders, policymakers, researchers, students, criminal justice, and public health practitioners attended this two-day event that examined evidence-based strategies to improve community safety. The Symposium featured an array of topics including gun violence, recruiting and retention efforts in policing, victim/survivor needs, alternative responses to traditional policing, and harm reduction.
