Taylor Lewis is an expert statistician in the Health Statistics program area of RTI’s Center for Official Statistics. He serves as the lead statistician for the National Survey of Family Growth, the Healthy Chicago Survey, and the Los Angeles County Health Survey.

Dr. Lewis is an expert in designing large, complex surveys, particularly those conducted using address-based sampling frames. He is an adjunct professor with multiple affiliations, including the George Mason University Department of Statistics, the Joint Program in Survey Methodology at the University of Maryland, and the Odum Institute at the University of North Carolina. Dr. Lewis’ research has been published in leading journals such as the Journal of Official Statistics, Survey Research Methods, and Field Methods. 

Prior to RTI, Dr. Lewis served as the lead statistician for the Federal Employee Viewpoint Survey (FEVS), administered annually by the U.S. Office of Personnel Management to over 1 million full- or part-time, nonseasonal, civilian employees of the U.S. federal government. In this role he oversaw sample design, weighting, and disclosure avoidance techniques applied to public release data files of survey microdata.

In addition to his work, Dr. Lewis holds a professional membership at the American Statistical Association, the International Association of Survey Statisticians, and the American Association of Public Opinion Research.
