Michele Eddy has been with RTI International for over 20 years. Over her time at RTI, she has advanced from being a staff engineer to a director over the watershed management group within RTI's water-focused center. She helped grow the water program out from the overall environmental program in the late aughts and continues to innovate and expand in the field, helping to build new tools and business paths in the sectors of water resources and watershed management.

Ms. Eddy's work generally focuses on the development, analysis, and application of spatially based watershed models for watershed management, ecological and climatological analyses, and investigation of policy initiatives. She leads the research and development of RTI’s Watershed Flow and ALLocation modeling system (WaterFALL®️), a modeling framework used to support water use and allocation and benefits of nature-based solutions (NBS) during times of changing climate and landscapes. Ms. Eddy also leads the development and use of the NBS Explorer built on the WaterFALL®️ platform to help groups and individuals, like land managers and water resources planners, evaluate the use of NBS in their communities and watersheds.

Ms. Eddy has led the development of several applications that allow clients to view, interpret, and expand on the results of complex modeling analyses. She works on all technical aspects from development of the mathematic concepts, data analyses, and workflows to consulting with programming experts to create user-friendly interfaces and writing professional reports and journal articles to share findings. She also holds project management positions and leads the business development strategy for WaterFALL®️ and other watershed management activities.
