RTI International joins new Southeast Regional SI Computing Consortium as a founding member to advance scientific research

RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C. — RTI International, an independent scientific research institute, has joined the Southeast Regional Super-Intelligence (SI) Computing Consortium as a founding member. The consortium is a collaboration of more than 20 universities across 12 states to build and share advanced computing infrastructure for scientific research across the region.

The consortium was announced Oct. 8 at the White House’s Science: A New Golden Age Summit in Washington, D.C., by Michael Kratsios, director of the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy.

“We are proud to join research institutions across the Southeast in this effort to expand the tools available for scientific discovery,” said Ivy Estabrooke, Ph.D., consortia growth and partnerships lead at RTI. “Connecting advanced computing with multidisciplinary expertise will help strengthen American leadership in science and technology.”

By joining forces through shared investments and collaboration, the consortium aims to expand researchers’ access to computing resources that support super intelligence and ensure the Southeast plays a key role in creating a more secure, prosperous and innovation-focused future.

The founding members include institutions in Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, North Carolina, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Texas.
