Vincenzo Malo is a public health researcher with a background in mixed methods social and behavioral sciences research. They evaluate public health media campaigns for national and state clients like the Food and Drug Administration and the Colorado Department of Public Health and the Environment. This work includes surveillance of substance use behaviors and risk perceptions, evaluation of health systems and health systems providers, and exploration of interventions that respond to health disparities. Vincenzo works with several large-scale quantitative datasets and is skilled in data management, analysis, and visualization in Stata and R. They are also a Researcher Workbench Coach for the National Institutes of Health’s “All of Us” Research Program. In this role, they provide technical assistance and methodological support to students and researchers at educational institutions across the United States.

Additionally, they have employed strengths-based approaches to identify opportunities for public health interventions aimed at improving social support and other psychosocial outcomes for adolescents living with HIV, families with young children, and orphans and separated children. They have led and authored multiple manuscripts related to this work.

Vincenzo's research interests also include improving psychosocial well-being and better understanding social determinants of health for LGBTQIA+ communities. They have developed guidance on inclusive research practices with LGBTQIA+ communities, conducting reviews of existing methodologies and publishing their findings for researchers at RTI and other institutions. Vincenzo also serves on the PRIDE Employee Resource Group’s leadership team.
