Paul Pulliam directs RTI’s Center for Health Research, which houses the Survey Research Division’s portfolio of health sector research. With more than 25 years of survey research experience, he has worked with almost every agency within the U.S. Public Health Service.

Mr. Pulliam’s work has included environmental exposure studies and medical monitoring programs in response to the public-health emergency in Libby, Montana. For the CDC, he led the evaluation of the distribution of antibiotics after the anthrax attacks in 2001, the first use of the Strategic National Stockpile. For both the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene and the New York Fire Department, he has led multiple surveys and technical assistance tasks for their World Trade Center health programs. He worked with the Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry to develop its Rapid Response Registry with the goal of improving the study of environmental exposures after emergency events. He has also consulted with the Indonesian Ministry of Health on its National Stroke Registry to implement quality assurance protocols and to align the registry with World Health Organization guidelines.
