Meghan Camello

Meghan Camello is an Innovation Analyst with RTI Innovation Advisors, a business unit of RTI International. She focuses on technology and market insights and strategic advising for federal, commercial, and university clients.

She has advised NASA on technology transfer policies related to the developing market in commercial space and supported the National Institute of Justice’s Forensic Technology Center of Excellence (FTCOE) and the Criminal Justice Testing and Evaluation Consortium (CJTEC). For the CJTEC, she conducts market research and technology scouting that is published as reports to help criminal justice stakeholders stay up to date and make decisions on the implementation of emerging technologies. Ms. Camello conducted research for the USAID-funded Science, Technology, Research, and Innovation for Development (STRIDE) Project and for the publication of two project-related reports: Driving Innovation to Deliver Economic Value: A Needs Assessment of the Philippines’ Technology Sector and the Philippine Innovation Ecosystem Update 2019.  

Ms. Camello was a member of the teams that worked on a transformative, billion-dollar public-private partnership in the Washington, DC region, where she conducted research that informed the strategy and planning of a university innovation hub. Similarly, she collaborated on work to identify N95 and surgical masks made in the U.S., as part of a Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act-funded project. The technical data provided by the team enabled the government to build its own supply chain to construct masks for future pandemics. Ms. Camello also supported the research and writing of an addendum to RTI International’s Innovation Corridor Blueprint. The addendum aims to help planners, policy makers, and other key stakeholders better address the challenges of uneven regional economic development and social and economic inequality as they position North Carolina’s Innovation Corridor region for future growth. Her research and writing focused on issues related to economic growth and recovery post-COVID-19 in North Carolina’s agriculture technology and bio health sectors.

Before joining RTI, Ms. Camello performed research and analysis that informed policy and local legislative action for the Boston City Council. While in school, she served as a Jumpstart AmeriCorps member, where she provided language, literacy, and social-emotional programming for preschool children from under-resourced communities.
