Maria Teresa (Tere) Ligorria

Maria Teresa Ligorría (Tere) is a Senior Manager for Project and Proposal Support with a focus on Latin America and Caribbean (LAC). Based in Guatemala, Ms. Ligorría identifies and develops new business opportunities for RTI in the Latin American private, academic, and government sectors and provides technical and operational support as needed to the projects RTI implements globally. 

Ms. Ligorría also designs and leads the deployment of training programs. She is a lead trainer providing leadership and professional development training to RTI staff worldwide. She is a member of RTI’s Equity, Diversity, Equity and Belonging (EDIB) Council, serving as the co-chair of the Learning & Development subcommittee. In this role, she supports the Council’s efforts in developing curricula and leading training, mainly for international staff. 

Previously she served as the Chief of Party for the Multisector Alliances (Alianzas) Project in Guatemala; interim Chief of Party for Local Capacity for Solutions in Barbados, and interim Chief of Party for Progresa con Educación in Honduras, all funded by USAID.

Ms. Ligorría is a member of the Guatemalan College of Humanities and has served as Technical Advisor for the Guatemalan Congress Committee on Education, Science and Technology. She is fluent in Spanish and English.
