Imogen Hawley

Imogen Hawley specializes in qualitative public health research on HIV prevention. She is skilled in coordinating qualitative research within clinical trials at all stages, including conducting in-depth interviews with participants, conducting user-acceptance testing on data collection software, training collaborators in data collection, and analyzing data. A member of our Women’s Global Health Imperative, she is also affiliated with the RTI Global Gender Center.

Currently, Ms. Hawley is a project coordinator and qualitative analyst for clinical microbicide trials, exploring HIV prevention among adolescent girls, young women, and pregnant and breastfeeding women. This research examines the acceptability of vaginal rings for HIV prevention and of novel, multipurpose prevention technologies for HIV and unintended pregnancy.

Ms. Hawley joined RTI in 2017. She previously conducted ethnographic research, exploring sexual and reproductive health topics including infertility in the US and arts-based sexual health education for youth in Mozambique. She has gone through training in CFR 21 Part 11 compliance, and is certified in Good Clinical Practice and Social and Behavioral Research. She is proficient in Dedoose and NVivo qualitative analysis software.
