Daniel Barch

Daniel H. Barch is a researcher in RTI International’s Quality Measurement and Health Policy program. He has contributed extensively to developing and maintaining data collection tools and measures used to assess the cost and quality of post-acute care. He has also helped to develop models for predicting hospital readmission.

Dr. Barch is a member of the part-time faculty in the Psychology Department at Tufts University, where he has taught courses including introductory and advanced statistics, experimental design, and reasoning and decision making, and he has performed research involving the recruitment of human participants, the development and administration of online surveys, and the development of novel statistical analyses.

Dr. Barch joined RTI in 2015. He has an academic background in psychology and professional experience as a teacher, crisis counselor, lifeguard, fry cook, and bartender. He is a member of the Psychonomic Society, Society for Mathematical Psychology, and American Psychological Society. His introductory statistics textbook Statistics for Everybody was released in fall 2019 by Kendall Hunt Publishing.
