Dr. Anne Deutsch is a Senior Research Public Health Analyst at RTI International. Anne brings extensive expertise in health care quality and Medicare policy, her research primarily focuses on improving post-acute care, including inpatient rehabilitation, long-term care hospitals, and skilled nursing facilities. Throughout her career, Anne has made significant contributions to the development and implementation of standardized data elements and quality reporting programs. 

Dr. Deutsch was instrumental in creating post-acute care standardized self-care and mobility data elements and the initial functional status quality measures and has played a key role in the inpatient rehabilitation facility quality reporting program. Her current research areas include alternative payment models, value-based purchasing, advancing equity, home and community-based services quality measurement, and rehabilitation care for individuals with spinal cord injuries. 

Dr. Deutsch has served on numerous expert panels for prestigious organizations such as the National Academy of Medicine, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, and the World Health Organization. She also serves as a Research Scientist at the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab and a Research Associate Professor in the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Northwestern University’s Feinberg School of Medicine. Her skills in public health, clinical research, program evaluation, and data analysis have made her a valuable asset in shaping health care policies and improving quality of care.
