United Nations Intergovernmental Negotiating Committee on Plastic Pollution (INC-5.2)

Join RTI at the second part of the fifth session of the Intergovernmental Negotiating Committee designed to finalize a global, legally binding treaty to tackle plastic pollution in the marine environment. This session will address plastic's lifecycle, from production and design, to waste management and financing. It is a continuation of the previous INC-5 that took place in Busan, South Korea, in 2024, where consensus on key issues, such as capping plastic production, regulating toxic chemicals, and securing financial support for developing countries, remained out of reach. INC-5 is now working to finalize a global plastic treaty that sets international standards for plastic use.
