A New Era of Trade Policy Modeling for Agricultural Markets
November 19, 2025, 10:45–11:00 AM ET
Presenter: Daniel Lapidus
Trade policy decisions—including tariffs, quotas, and bilateral agreements—can reshape global agricultural markets overnight. Yet many cooperators lack the tools to quantify these impacts in real-time. In this session, Daniel Lapidus will introduce TradeSIM, a web-based economic analysis tool designed to help stakeholders evaluate the effects of trade policies on commodity flows, prices, and welfare.
Leveraging a tool developed for the U.S. Department of Agriculture, TradeSIM has been reimagined for broader industry use. The tool allows users to simulate tariffs scenarios, compare baseline and post-policy trade outcomes, and generate detailed reports across multiple commodities and countries.
Attendees will see a live demonstration of TradeSIM’s capabilities and learn how it can support grant applications, informed policy approaches, and strategic planning. Whether you’re a data-savvy analyst or a program manager seeking clearer insights, this session will show how TradeSIM can empower smarter, faster decisions in a volatile trade environment.
