RTI’s Monica Dongre named among Triangle Business Journal's 2025 40 Under 40 winners

TBJ award recognizes senior employment counsel for her exceptional leadership

RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C. — The Triangle Business Journal has recognized Monica Dongre, senior employment counsel at RTI International, an independent scientific research institute, as a 2025 40 Under 40 award recipient.

The Triangle Business Journal honors young professionals from various industries for their contributions to their organizations and communities. This year's winners work in a variety of industries, including finance, health care, real estate and legal, and were selected by the publication’s executive team from more than 120 nominations.

“I’m honored—not only to have been nominated by my leadership, but also to be selected as a winner,” said Dongre. “During the ceremony, we were reminded that this award isn’t a career peak, but a powerful celebration of early success and the journey still ahead. That sentiment makes this recognition even more meaningful.”

This year marks the 25th anniversary of the program, which has now celebrated 1,000 young professionals for their impact on the local community. Dongre and her cohort volunteered with Habitat for Humanity of Wake County to help build affordable homes and were recognized at an award event earlier this month in Raleigh.

“Monica’s recognition is a testament to her talent, dedication, and exceptional leadership at RTI and in the community,” said Chris Buchholtz, senior vice president and deputy general counsel. “Since joining RTI, she has played a pivotal role in shaping strategies that enhance the employee experience.”

Dongre joined RTI in 2021 and has advised her human resources and business partners on topics including employee relations, total rewards and compliance.
