Stephanie Earnshaw, PhD, has been with RTI Health Solutions for more than 20 years. She has presented workshops, distance learning, and short courses on decision-analytic modeling techniques for pharmaceutical companies and organizations such as the International Society for Pharmacoeconomics and Outcomes Research (ISPOR), the Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy, and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.  Dr. Earnshaw currently serves on the ISPOR Board of Directors, and she is on the editorial board for PharmacoEconomics – Open.  She is also one of the lead authors of the newly published book Budget-Impact Analysis of Health Care Interventions: A Practical Guide

Dr. Earnshaw’s research focus is applying decision-analysis techniques to industry-related issues and health care problems. Her areas of specialization include mathematical programming (constrained optimization), network optimization, Markov processes, simulation, and other state transition modeling. She has developed innovative mathematical models using these methods to determine pricing strategy, predict clinical outcomes, and allocate resources. In addition, she continues her support for the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and diagnostic and medical device industry by developing budget-impact and cost-effectiveness models for their health technologies. Therapeutic areas include cardiovascular disease, gastrointestinal disorders, respiratory disease, transplantation, infectious disease, osteoporosis, vaccines, and oncology. She is a member of the ISPOR and the Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences. She has presented her work at professional conferences and has published in several peer-reviewed journals.
