Pablo Traverso

Pablo Traverso is a senior project management specialist with over a decade of experience in developing web-based data dissemination tools for the Department of Education and other Federal agencies. His recent experience includes the front-end web development of online data tools; the development and implementation of quality assurance tests; the management and maintenance of SQL database systems; client, user, and staff technical support; and the deployment of database and web applications to cloud environments.

Mr. Traverso is skilled in the design and development of online data tools, the front-end user design of data analysis user interfaces, the administration of user and technical support systems, the development of Quality Assurance procedures, the configuration and administration of issue tracking systems (such as Jira and Asana), and the management of web development teams. He is passionate about user-centered design and creating secure, reliable, and user-friendly data dissemination systems.

Currently, Mr. Traverso leads the development of the Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System (IPEDS) Data Dissemination systems and works closely with the development of IPEDS data tools and the deployment of new functionalities and data to public websites. Mr. Traverso also leads the development team for the College Scorecard, a consumer tool developed for the U.S. Department of Education that combines IPEDS data with other federal education data to assist prospective students compare institutions of interest. Having served as the system administrator for the NCES Help Desk since 2013, Mr. Traverso has thorough experience with providing technical support to users of NCES longitudinal data and with leading project teams in customer-support–related tasks. Mr. Traverso has been a member development team for NCES' DataLab platform of web tools since the site's launch, and is frequently involved with the QA and deployment of new datasets to the PowerStats web application and new data table publications to the Tables Library application.
