Moumita Bhattacharya is a research chemical engineer at RTI. Dr. Bhattacharya is experienced in the air sensitive, cryogenic synthesis of organometallic molecules and metal organic frameworks (MOFs), and their purification and spectroscopic characterization. She has expertise in handling high pressure hydrogenation reactions and electrochemical reactions in H-cell and continuous flow cells.

Currently, Dr. Bhattacharya explores thermal and electrochemical ways to convert CO2 to value added products. She performs spectroscopic identification of various species formed by the reaction of CO2 with carbon capture amines. She also works to understand the degradation of various amine-based carbon capture solvents.

Prior to joining RTI, Dr. Bhattacharya worked in the development of solid sorbents for capturing toxic VOCs as a research scientist at XploSafe LLC.
