Laura Haines-Poitras is a research chemist in RTI’s Center for Analytical Sciences, where she manages several commercial projects, leads laboratory efforts for select National Toxicology Program (NTP) tasks, and is responsible for sample preparation and digestion and analytical techniques. She also serves as the project manager for the Environmental Lead Proficiency Testing (ELPAT) Program, which is administered by the American Industrial Hygiene Association (AIHA). She has experience in proficiency testing for lead content in paint, soil, and dust samples provided to a variety of labs across the world. Ms. Haines has technical expertise in areas of analytical method and biochemical assay development, material characterization development, nanofiber filtration fabrication, and bioaerosol collection techniques. She also has experience in development, validation, and application of analytical methods for the determination of trace inorganics in various sample types.
