Claudia Squire

Claudia Squire conducts research on health communications topics in our Center for Communication Science. Her work spans including substance use, direct-to-consumer prescription drug advertising, and a variety of chronic conditions.

Ms. Squire has experience with the full spectrum of advanced qualitative and quantitative research methods and has led studies involving specific groups, such as health care providers and seniors, as well as the broader consumer population. Currently, Ms. Squire is directing an effort to determine whether it is feasible to make the anti-overdose drug naloxone available over-the-counter. She also serves as project director of Reframing How We Talk About Alcohol, an effort to develop a new messaging strategy for public discussions of excessive alcohol use.

Ms. Squire joined RTI in 1996 after working as a substance abuse counselor at a long-term treatment facility. She is a member of the American Public Health Association.
