Education

PhD, Synthetic Chemistry, University of Virginia
BS, Chemistry, College of William and Mary

Ann Decker, Ph.D., is a molecular pharmacologist with expertise in G protein-coupled receptor (GPCR) drug discovery. Dr. Decker’s research focuses on characterizing the interaction of novel ligands with CNS GPCRs through cell-based functional assays (such as FLIPR-based calcium mobilization and TR-FRET-based cAMP accumulation) and receptor binding assays (saturation, competition, and kinetic). She has experience with high-throughput screening (HTS) using cell-based functional assays and manages RTI’s 100k compound library collection and HTS database.

Dr. Decker received training in synthetic and medicinal chemistry before making a career transition to pharmacology. She has been a co-author of more than 50 peer-reviewed journal articles and has presented her research at the Society for Neuroscience and the American Chemical Society national meetings.
