Ana Forsythe is a Research Genetic Counselor at RTI with expertise in genetic counseling, variant interpretation, and rare diseases. Ms. Forsythe currently supports the Early Check project, a voluntary research study for babies born in North Carolina to obtain additional newborn screening tests with the goal of finding serious, rare health conditions in babies so they can get help sooner. 

The majority of Ms. Forsythe’s career has been related to exploring the use of genome sequencing to screen for genetic conditions. She has experience in community-engaged research, the use of genomic tools for variant interpretation, and is a native Spanish-speaker, able to offer families genetic counseling session in Spanish. 

Ms. Forsythe is a member of the National Society of Genetic Counselors.
