Abstract

Drones, or unmanned aircraft systems (UAS), delivering contraband pose a real threat to correctional facilities. This brief provides an overview of the options and challenges associated with detecting and mitigating drone-delivered contraband in correctional facilities in the United States. This technology brief is part of a series that offers insight into the types of contraband and associated technologies and products used to remotely detect contraband in the corrections environment.
