Dr. Amelia Massengill-McLeod is an education consultant and school transformation leadership coach in RTI’s Center for Education Services, where she helps educational administrators identify and expand effective practices through an assets-based coaching approach.

A former K-12 administrator and district director for middle grades education, Dr. Massengill-McLeod works closely with teachers to develop and deliver high quality instruction, implement sustainable structures for improving school culture and instructional capacity, and provide professional learning sessions on a variety of topics and issues. Previously, she led an initiative to engage high risk populations in high school to remain in school to graduate. As a result, she worked with a variety of stakeholders to open an innovative high school and was later appointed principal of the school. While serving as the director of middle grades education, 75% of schools exited state identified low performing status.

Currently, Dr. Massengill-McLeod provides leadership coaching support on the Innovative Partnership Grants and Rethink Education, a project focused on helping education leaders reimagine education to help schools and districts with their school improvement efforts and positively impact student learning.
